What is the best desert tour in Morocco for a first visit?
For most first-time visitors, the 3-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga is the best choice. It crosses the High Atlas, stops at Ait Ben Haddou, and includes a camel ride and a night in a Sahara camp.
Is 3 days enough for the Sahara from Marrakech?
Yes. In 3 days you reach Merzouga, ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes and sleep one night in a desert camp, with about 18 to 20 hours of driving in total. For a slower pace choose 4 days, or end your tour in Fes to avoid driving back the same road. Read our full guide: is 3 days enough for the Sahara?
When is the best time to visit the Sahara?
Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the most comfortable. Days are warm and nights are cool. Summer is very hot, and winter nights can be cold. Read our full guide: best time to visit the Sahara.
Are your Morocco tours private?
Yes. Every tour on this website is private. You get your own driver and vehicle, and you can change the route, pace and stops to suit your dates and budget.
Can I start in Fes and finish in Marrakech?
Yes. Our 3-day and 4-day tours from Fes cross the Middle Atlas to Merzouga, then continue through the Todra Gorge and Dades Valley to Marrakech.
How many days do I need for a Morocco trip?
Two or three days is enough for a desert trip from Marrakech or Fes. About a week covers the desert plus Fes and Marrakech. With 10 to 14 days you can add Chefchaouen, the Atlantic coast and slower days in each place.
Are your tours good for seniors, families and honeymooners?
Yes. Because every tour is private, we shorten driving days, choose comfortable rooms and plan breaks whenever you need them. For couples we can arrange riad suites and a private tent in the desert camp. For seniors we recommend our longer grand tours with more rest time, like the 14-day Morocco at Leisure; for honeymooners, the 12-day luxury desert tour or the 10-day Grand Tour.
What languages do your drivers and guides speak?
All our drivers and guides speak English. Some also speak French, Spanish or Chinese. Our licensed local guides in Marrakech and Fes have 14 to 16 years of experience.
Can I choose basic, mid-range or luxury hotels?
Yes. Every tour is available in three levels. Basic uses clean 2–3 star hotels and a standard desert tent, Mid-Range uses 3–4 star hotels, traditional riads and a comfort tent with private bathroom, and Luxury uses 4–5 star hotels, boutique riads and a luxury desert tent with en-suite bathroom.
